My Impressions
Beam Quality
The Warrior Mini has, what is described by Olight as, an improved LED and uses the TIR optic lens that is often used by Olight in their torches, including the excellent H2R Nova.
I found the beam to be very balanced and uniform, without the harsh transition areas found in many other torches.

Charging
Charging occurs via Olight’s signature magnetic charging cable – the magnet is strong enough to easily attract the charging base and can be done single-handed.
The Olight magnetic charging cable is used on the majority of Olight’s torches and is a very unique and easy way to charge the torch, it has a standard USB on the other end that can be used with any USB plug or portable battery.
The magnetic pad on the cable has a charging light next to it that lights up red when charging and green once fully charged and it takes 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery from flat.
The magnetic base can also be used to attach the torch to any metal surface – an extremely useful feature with a multitude of potential uses.
Power Button & Modes
The power button is located on the side of the torch – it’s slightly raised, making it easy to locate, even in low light.
Depressing the power button briefly switches the torch on, while depressing it briefly again switches it off.
To cycle through the modes – the torch should be switched on and then the power button held down – this will cycle through levels 2-4 (500/170 – 120 – 15 lumens).
Level 5 (moonlight mode) is activated by depressing the power button for one second, while the torch is off.
The Turbo mode (level 1) is achieved by double tapping the power button.
SOS mode is activated by triple tapping the power button.
There is a battery level indicator located on the power button, which lights up when the torch is powered on as follows:
- Green: >60% battery power
- Orange: 10-60% battery power
- Red: 5-10% battery power
- Blinking Red: <5% battery power
The torch can also be locked by depressing the power button, while the torch is off, for a few seconds – depressing it again for a few seconds unlocks it. This is a very useful feature and prevents accidental powering on – when the torch is locked, the power button battery level indicator will light up red when depressed.
The torch also has a dual-stage tail switch, enabling the torch to be powered on tactically – Partially pressing the tail switch button activates level 3 (120 lumens), deactivation is by partially pressing the button again. Fully pressing the button activates level 1 (1500 lumens), fully pressing the button again switches the torch off.
Clip
The Warrior Mini has a detachable dual-sided metal clip that can be used to attach the torch to items such as a belt.
As the clip is dual-sided it allows the torch to be attached to items in either direction adding to its versatility.
Body
The body of the torch has a knurling body pattern, this gives a very firm grip – even if your hands are wet, you won’t find the torch slipping.
Conclusion
The Olight Warrior Mini is a really good all round tactical torch.
It’s form factor and size make it very easy to carry around as an EDC and it’s compact size belies the power that lies inside…
500 lumens will be sufficient for most outdoor activities and a runtime of 218 minutes on that level is very good and rivals many bigger torches.
There are a few areas that potentially could be improved…
The first is the power source… you can only use the custom Olight battery with it – this reduces the practicality, in terms of being able to use other generic batteries as spares and backups.
The other (and I’m actually not sure if this is a negative aspect or not…) is the magnetic charging function – to be honest, I really like it – it’s neat and unique and very easy to use, even in the dark… but it limits the charging options and requires you to carry the charging cable with you as you can’t use standard USB cables. On the plus side if you have a number of Olight torches, that have the magnetic charging capability (and most of them do), then you can interchange the cable between them…
All in all the Olight Warrior Mini 1500 Lumens Compact Tactical Light is a great EDC torch that I highly recommend.
It’s available from Olight UK.

Hi Otaru – glad you found it useful… it’s definitely a great torch – very bright and compact to easily fit in your pocket.
